I seem intent on taking back as much of İstanbul with me as I possibly can.

Prints of photos by Ara Güler, postcards, a huge print of Han Kahvesi by Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu from the İstanbul Modern, earrings from the Kapalı Çarşı, scrolls of calligraphy from the Sahaflar Carşısı, mavi boncuks for people back home....none of it seems to suffice though....I´d much rather just never leave....

I have always wanted to go to Turkey. Istanbul, the meeting place of the East and the West.

out of complete curiosity how does a student manage to travel all around? what are your travel tips? i was an impoverished student so traveled all around India but couldn't manage to jump around internationally. i really think that you should be putting up some travel tips along with all the pics of the lovely places. :)

tr: funny...I miss the place way too much already.

ts: thanks :)

missquoted: Haha...I like that word. Cok tesekkur.

artful badger: Yes, it's lovely. Though the east meets west cliches irritate me no end.

anon: well I'm lucky in that I stay with people I know most places so that cuts down travel costs a lot and makes staying in one city for long feasible....other than that I don't really know of what travel tips to share!
