Have given up watching the coverage on television, mostly because I can't take it any more. My uncle, aunt, cousins were having dinner at the Taj when firing broke out. They were lucky and managed to get out in the first few hours. My old boss - she was editor of the publication I was interning with right out of school - was trapped in a corner room of the Taj. Last night I heard there had been no news from her since early that morning. Today they are saying she hasn't made it. We had exchanged emails just a few days back.

I am so sad and so, so angry.

Very, very sorry to hear that.

I have never been to Mumbai but the pain goes far beyond there. The same feelings echo everywhere --- sadness but with a frustrating serving of anger. Really, how many times will things like this happen ? When will we get real change ?

Don't want to point you to it, in case the news is as bad as you think, but there's a list on my blog which has the names of those dead/injured.

I do hope you don't find her name there.

Sorry to hear about your boss.

//Not watching this event on TV was the best decision I made. Somehow, printed word makes it easier to filter, reflect upon and digest.

I'm really sorry about your boss, and under the given circumstances its so much worse, if she is who I think she is.

A friend of mine left leopolds 10 minutes before the shooting started. My dad knows the Taj GM whose wife and two kids died, while he was helping other people get out. It just sucks so much to hear these stories

I'm so sorry to hear about it.
One of the cousins of a close family friend has died in the Taj encounter. He was a manager of the food and beverage department and had worked for the Taj since he was 17... almost 31 years. He defined himself by having worked only at the Taj all his life....
sad. sad. affair.
