This is simply gorgeous: I've had dreams (I mean actual dreams while sleeping) of snagging a shot much like this one, the only difference being that in my dream, the scene is snowy.

Lovely, soaring shot. I'm reminded of Nuri Bilge Ceylan's flights of Istanbullu pigeons--like Lucas's dream, with snow.

.: well it's nice to have you back as well!

sb: not so sure - I don't have many green doors in my Hyd photos and I have been meaning to bug you to upload those photos anyway.

lucas: Thanks - this was a lucky shot, as are most of my half decent ones, I think. I just happened to have my camera pointed at the minarets when those birds flew past, and was so busy trying to get in as many of them as possible, that I just managed to get in the minaret tips. The birds didn't make as dramatic a flight after this one, the entire time I was in the mosque compound.

r: thank you, dear - the photos I owe you will be soon on their way.

e: I often actually dream of Ceylan's pictures - and like Lucas I too mean real dreams - I would like to see a snowy Istanbul.
