From Delhi...

Belated new year wishes as well!

Vacation (though it was hardly one) ends in a few hours and I'm already depressed.

Me likey. It tells a story, that you just can't put into words. I guess that's this city itself.

wow.

the marigolds are lovely, but the first shot is my favorite: what structure is it from?

for some reason it conjures up selcuk/persian ghosts....

??!: I never noticed the green door fetish! I think its more just a fetish for doors and windows!

bint battuta: Thanks! Yes, I am hoping the year turns out to be good...lets see.

tr: hmmm...

renovatio: Thanks. And belated new year wishes! Hope you have a good one.

spacebar: Thanks!

e: It's from Humayun's Tomb - probably my favourite structure in Delhi. The Selcuk/Persian ghosts aren't surprising - Humayuns Persian wife Hamida Banu Begum supervised the construction. Also, Humayun himself spent a lot of time in exile in Persia and his reign saw the increasing infuence of Persian architectural styles...Selcuk influences were present from the Sultanate period itself.

You must visit Delhi soon.

ah, my best friend (not at Delhiite) has long said that Humayun's Tomb is his favorite building in Delhi.

and (i should whisper to avoid a jinx) there's a good chance "soon" will happen within this year. inshallah.
