Look Familiar?

Freaky is it not? Talk about like father like son.
I do have high expectations from Dhani though... (ummm, unlike a certain Sean Lenon). And the bar is set high. George is my absolute fave Beatle. By far. I don't think I am capable of explaining why George and not Paul or John. There was just something real and true about him.....
I even like My Sweet Lord. Almost everyone I know has an active dislike for that song.
Sigh, I need to go look at my folder of Harrison photos and indulge in nostalgia. You can go hear some Dhani.

Hmm.. you're right about the resemblance. I guess it's those dreamer eyes.
Hey, who hates "My sweet lord" - it's nice in its own way. But "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" is waaaay the best of George.

For me, it's Something. Nothing comes close.

km brought up an interesting point about george's legacy when i posted about the farewell concert some time back (here). he said: how many other performers would be remembered this way?

ps. have you seen the concert? you must. (it's not pg-13 :-D)

Aaah, Here Comes The Sun!

MT: Actually my fave George song is Here Comes The Sun.

TR: Nice post and I really liked kms comment. I found some of the concert highlights on YouTube....I almost teared up when they played I'll see you in my dreams. I think the concert was fitting for some one who was (or atleast came across as) a simple, decent man. (hmm I just realised I basically paraphrased km - it was unintentional). I love that he and Clapton remained friends even after everthing that happened.

Aaah and hope you and MT enjoy the dvd...=D

Sines: I know...its a bit spooky no? I think it was his wife who said about Dhani "Its like George remained young and we all got old" ...

Jerry: Exactly =D

we'll raise a toast to you. remember to hiccup.

THEY said that George could not write songs. And when Abbey Road came out THEY said Here Come the Sun was the best song on the LP.
Sean Penn in I Am Sam

Abbey Road is the best Beatles LP. Timeless. And yes, SGT Pepper's sounds dated.

"while my guitar gently weeps..." well you rarely get songs better than that, finally somebody acknowledges old George... He is clearly my fav Beatle!!

Salil said...

With no disrespect to Here Comes The Sun, an absolute classic in its own measure... !!

Well her collection of George pictures is slightly terrifying. You'd like her.;)

I was always a George girl myself, but never quite on that scale.
